Shibori is the Japanese ancient art of making shapes and patterns on cloth using stitching, tying, folding, clamping, and pole-wrapping. This class will explore many different traditional and contemporary techniques and use indigo dye to produce beautiful designs on cotton fabric. We will also dye one silk scarf or silk fabric using fresh indigo leaves and produce a table runner or dresser scarf.
Fee includes materials prepped by Rebecca: fabric, stitching thread, dye, needles, and detailed handouts.
